Abstract

The rhetoric of teachers’ speech is a key element of effective pedagogical communication. In modern education, the teacher’s role extends beyond simply delivering information; teachers must organize knowledge, inspire motivation, guide intellectual inquiry, and foster a productive communicative environment. All of these tasks rely heavily on the quality of teacher speech. Rhetoric, traditionally understood as the art of persuasive and effective communication, provides the theoretical framework for analyzing how teachers structure explanations, motivate students, and manage classroom discourse. This article examines the rhetorical characteristics of teachers’ speech, the linguistic and stylistic strategies used in educational communication, and the functions of teacher discourse in the classroom. Particular attention is given to rhetorical principles such as clarity, logical organization, persuasion, and expressiveness. The article also explores rhetorical techniques frequently used by teachers, including questioning strategies, analogies, repetition, and storytelling. Furthermore, the development of rhetorical competence in teacher education is discussed as an important factor in improving the quality of instruction. The study demonstrates that rhetorical awareness enables teachers to transform classroom communication into an engaging, interactive, and intellectually stimulating process that supports deeper learning and student participation.
