Abstract

The article discusses the need to include in the field of cultural ecology a new scientific discipline - the ecology of education. Crisis state a number of areas of public life has now necessitated the greening of the relevant sciences: in particular, the threat to the preservation of culture has led to the emergence of the ecology of culture. Meanwhile, the transmission of cultural norms occurs through the social institution of education; therefore an essential part of the ecology of culture should be the preservation of the educational level. It is shown that the current state of education as a social institution that ensures the reproduction of the socio-cultural environment is critical. The author proposes to develop the ecology of education. The object of her research will be the impact of the socio-cultural environment on education system; the subject of the study is the conditions for the functioning of education as a social institution, the patterns of its implementation and ways to preserve it. The article lists the main tasks of the ecology of education. To solve the tasks set, it is necessary, in particular, to analyze the models of educational institutions of various societies, considering them as tools self-preservation of society. As a result, we will be able to develop measures to modernize society without violating its value bases. Thus, the development of the ecology of education seems to be a mandatory step in any action to improve its effectiveness.
